The 1st Oman Marine Festival will kick off at the Al Bustan Palace Hotel on March 27th till April 5th. The festival seeks to highlight the traditional Omani marine heritage, promoting the tourism in the Sultanate and exploring the investment opportunities, adding that a number of ministries, authorities and associations will take part in the festival, besides the participation of the sisterly State of Qatar.
He furthered that the festival will include sports, marine, entertainment and cultural villages, as well as a number of exhibitions to be organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Ministry of Heritage and Culture, Public Authority for Craft Industries (PACI) and Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), in addition to SMEs exhibition and marine life gallery. Daily boat races will consist of traditional sailing-boat and modern sail-boat, held on alternate days. The venue will have several distinct areas and a number of activities, including traditional maritime section, entertainment section, sailboat racing, two tented pavilions — one with an international market and the other with a local market, and children’s play area with inflatable bouncing castles.
