"Hand-in-Hand” by Shangri La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa

 

... With the Holy Month of Ramadan just around the corner, and with the generority that prevails over this month comes a initative from Shangri La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa to fill the nights with the novelty of the holy month.

"Hand-in-Hand”, is a Ramadan initiative by Shangri La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa is set to create a novelty in the capital as it goes all out to support Dar Al Atta'a. Last year was a great success and we had more than 2 thousand visitors/guests.

 

This year during the month there will be a focus of raising fund  for underprivileged students to provide them with uniforms, stationery and school suppliers.

Last years event held a special feature in that a Social Media Lounge was introduced; that was utalised as an acknowledgement of its popularity as a strong marketing tool. The Lounge will act as a platform for Oman's Social Media ambassadors/bloggers and an appreciation of their consistent effort to communicate with the society.

The event will take place on Friday 4th, 11th, 18th July 2014 in Al Mazar Souq at the Heritage Village, starting from 8pm onwards.



4th July Fashion Day
The designated Fashion Day will cater to all new comers in the fashion industry, from those involved in home businesses to the ones who have newly ventured into the industry. The day will feature a Fashion Lounge for leading fashion designers, makeup artists and successful boutique owners to meet and interact with the participants. This is expected to help and supports the upcoming fashion designers get first hand input on the business from established designers, who will share their successful experience. ( Home Business OMR 30 and Corporates/Boutiques/Shope's/Suppliers OMR 50 per table. Fee will be paid at the Dar Al Atta'a office in MQ, deadline 30th June 2014).

11th July Qaranqashoand & Master Junior Chef

The Qaranqasho Day will also feature the Master Junior Chef event, which has been designed on the lines of Dar Al Attaa's last Mothers Day event. Kids will be required to send in their recipes and the short listed ones will be provided with an opportunity to prepare their dishes with the Resorts Head Chefs and have it for suhoor .The Day will present an opportunity for the corporate sector to showcase their products and services by renting out tables at the venue. The fund is raised from the rents and the donations pooled into the bowls on each table will be handed over to Dar Al Atta'a. Plans are also on to charge a nominal entry fee and generate extra funds for the charity. Kid’s games, magic show, face painting; henna and the like have been woven into the day's programme. 18th July NGO/NPO/CSR + Insta8

The last weekend of "Hand-in-Hand" will be dedicated to Non Government Organizations and Non Profit Organizings and involved in community-centric events. On the agenda is also the third outing of Insta8 Oman, which was launched in April this year at the Opera Galleria . This year the event will take place at the auditorium, the money collected as donation from generous visitors to the event will also go to the chosen charity Dar Al Atta'a.(No fee will be charged to the participants).
